Morris Motors Limited was a British privately owned motor vehicle manufacturing company founded in 1919 by William Morris. The company was established to take over the assets of WRM Motors Limited, which Morris had acquired earlier that year. Morris Motors produced a range of vehicles, including the Morris Oxford, Morris Cowley, and Morris Minor. The Morris Minor, which debuted in 1948, was one of the company's most successful models, with over 1.3 million manufactured between 1948 and 1972. Morris Motors was also known for its innovative production methods, including the use of assembly line techniques and standardized parts. In 1952, Morris Motors merged with Austin Motor Company to form the British Motor Corporation (BMC), which later became British Leyland.
