BSA, which stands for Birmingham Small Arms Company, was a British manufacturer of motorcycles, bicycles, and firearms founded in 1861. The company began producing bicycles in the late 1800s and motorcycles in the early 1900s, with its first motorcycle, the BSA 3½ hp, introduced in 1907. BSA motorcycles were known for their quality and reliability and were popular among both civilians and the military. During World War II, BSA produced military motorcycles, rifles, and machine guns for the British armed forces. In the 1950s and 1960s, BSA became one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world, with models such as the BSA Gold Star and the BSA Rocket 3 gaining popularity among riders. However, the company faced financial difficulties in the 1970s and was eventually sold to Norton-Triumph-Villiers (NTV) in 1973. Today, BSA motorcycles are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, with restored models selling for tens of thousands of dollars.
